Background and experience
Robert is responsible for supporting growth, including fast-tracking mergers and acquisitions, convening collaboration and supporting firms to invest in capability. He leads the IBSF, NCT and M&A teams.
Robert joined Grant Thornton UK in 1989 as an audit trainee and, after a secondment to private equity, moved into corporate finance. Beyond being a client-facing partner, Robert has had several roles, including Managing partner for Scotland, Head of regions, Head of client delivery, Head of large corporate & government advisory and Head of industries.
His most recent role, prior to his appointment as GTIL’s chief growth officer, saw Robert act as Head of international. He has been a member of the Strategic Leadership Team at Grant Thornton UK since 2011.
