Changes to Grant Thornton in Austria

Grant Thornton Unitreu GmbH, our member firm in Austria, is demerging with the partner group led by Dr. Walter Platzer, effective 1 August 2018, and instead will merge with IBD Austria to create a new member firm, Grant Thornton Austria GmbH.

This merger will create one of the leading audit, tax and advisory firms in the Austrian market with 16 partners and 175 people. The firm will not only serve clients in Austria, but work closely with our member firms in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), South Eastern Europe and beyond.

The demerging partner group will leave Grant Thornton in the coming weeks and the parties are working closely together to ensure a seamless transition. We would like to thank Dr. Platzer and his colleagues for their contribution to the development of Grant Thornton in Austria and wish them well in their next endeavours.

All queries should be directed to Christoph Zimmel, partner, Grant Thornton Austria.
