Paul joined Grant Thornton UK in 2007 as part of the merger with RSM Robson Rhodes. He was the Marketing and Business Development Director of Grant Thornton UK until the end of 2012, when he joined the global team as Global Head of Marketing. At the end of 2016, Paul was asked to join the Global Leadership Team with responsibilities for brand, marketing and client experience. At the beginning of 2018, he joined the new Global Leadership Team under the new Global CEO, Peter Bodin.

Paul has over 20 years of experience in marketing across a range of industries and international markets. He has been a Distinguished Performance Prize winner (Chartered Institute of Marketing) and is a regular platform and keynote speaker. Paul has presented in over 20 countries across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific.

Outside interests

In other roles, Paul acts as a Trustee for Stripey Stork, a charity which collects new and pre-loved items for babies and children and distributes them via health professionals to local families in need. He also sits on the Corporate Advisory Board for the Exeter University One Planet MBA programme.

He enjoys creative writing and has had a short play broadcast on BBC Radio. In sports, Paul represented England Universities at football and went on scholarship to Canada where he was named an All-Canadian and National Most Valuable Player in 1996 . His national championship team was inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame in Nova Scotia in 2015. He continues to run track & field and is currently in the top 20 in the UK for 100m/200m sprints for his age category.
